From the pre-trip checklist, to arrival at camp, every spot along the river, and until I left camp, Momentum made my trip a memorable experience. This was my third river-rafting trip and nothing compares to my experience on the Salmon. First rate guides made the experience memorable by being very personable, sharing their rafting and local knowledge, as well as ensuring a safe trip through some insane rapids. I didn't realize how intense the rapids were until I saw the pictures of me under many 3 foot walls of water.

Awesome trip- the best and most consistent whitewater we have run since the Apurimac in Peru. Couldn't ask for better guides- everyone was really friendly, helpful and very safety-conscious. And the food... and the wine-tasting...YUM!

Kudos to Team Momentum. Masters of whitewater, cuisine and logistics. We had a terrific time and look forward to future trips.

This was my second trip with Momentum, and my first multi-day trip. Despite weather that was less than cooperative, this was the best rafting trip I have done so far, and I have done a fair number of rivers in several different countries! All the guides were great, and I still remember all the names, even though I have a terrible memory for names! Pete laid on a wine tasting that had not been advertised, and I know everyone had a wonderful time! My raft's guide, Anthony, was outstanding. Alan was very welcoming when I arrived at camp later than expected the first day. Mike, Simon and Rebecca were great, and Reynaldo did a fine job. The food was fantastic and well-appreciated by all. We finished the second day's run a little early, so Pete led a few of us on a 6-mile hike through a beautiful canyon. All in all, this was one fine trip, and I would certainly use this company again -- I'm hoping I can do the Chile trip one of these years!

Great spring trip with excellent Momentum staff of Anthony, Simon and Fay. Professional, safe, experienced, attentive and personable. Well run and reliable company that is in this business for the "long paddle". Would recommended it to anyone and will be coming back.

Fellas, Ironically, after rushing off the river and to the airport, my monday evening flight was cancelled. That said, after staring down the haystack of The White House at 2650 cfs I’m fully satisfied to have tackled some class V and made it home without being thrown from the boat. And since Eric nearly fell out of the boat twice, it’s probably for the best... I didn’t want to save him a 3rd time. He just head-butted the water one too many times. As you say... you can’t control the river, but you can control the food. I have to tell you again what a great job you guys did with the meals. In Los Angeles, I get plenty of noteworthy meals at the finest five star restaurants. The produce and local fare, and the taste and quality of everything you served was fantastic. You were accommodating to special requests, and had plenty of options (and quantity) for all. I’m very impressed and would highly recommend the trip to anyone. It’s still a shame we couldn’t hit the Cal-Salmon but hopefully the next time cooperates. And after the great time we all had, it’s very likely there will be a next time with you guys. Thanks again for guiding us through your beautiful northern Cali locale, and please... Everyone... Practice your bocce ball skills before we show up again. Z

Pete, what a great trip, you are a class act, the wine & cheese was fabulous and the food has been the best I’ve ever experienced on a river trip. The Salmon River was the second most beautiful river I’ve rafted, next to the Grand Canyon. Also it was very challenging. Will be pretty disappointing to go down the Kern after this trip. Hi Pete, I just wanted to touch bases with you and thank you for the incredible Cal Salmon/Scott trip this last weekend. The Salmon at 3000 cfs was a very different river from 3 years ago at a much lower flow, and the Scott at 1000 cfs was very technical and fun as hell! Erik did a great job on the oars as always, and Schuler rapid in particular was long, complex, and very challenging. The food was extraordinary, the camping deluxe, and all the other guests fun to be with. And I even got all my final exams all graded (I finished this at the Weed Motel 6 Monday evening)!! Next up for me is Moss Canyon/Rossasco Ravine on the north Yuba in 2 weeks, then a bunch of stuff in Colorado culminating with Gore Canyon (with AVA) in early August. With regard to the Middle Owyhee next year: Easter in 2011 is April 24, so I will have April 16 (Sa) - April 24 (Su) as my spring break. So hopefully you will run a trip on the MO during that time. If you do, I can guarantee you I will go on it barring unforseen circumstances (it would be best if it would not start right ON the 16th or end right ON the 24th, so I could have at least a day to travel each way). Also, I would like to go on the Chilko-Chilcotin-Fraser trip sometime in the future if you could schedule it to end prior to Aug. 12, but that trip is probably more likely to work for me 2 years from now rather than next year. Thanks again, and I hope for your continued success, and success with all of your future plans for Momentum. I think that it is terriffic that you are always pushing the envelope, trying new things. Hello lovely people! Jack and I loved our adventure and have already told folks your trips are a must, esp living in Ashland. I made the mistake of looking on Youtube at what can go wrong in Class V rapids, and was quite scared on the drive down, but not once - not even one time did I feel scared in the water. We were having so much fun that I couldn't stop laughing out loud every time we went through a rapid... all thanks to your guides' emphasis on safety, their skill set and knowledge base. I have a tremendous amount of respect for all of you and your experience reading the water. Also, the food was dreamy; healthy, organic energy food made us all happy :) Thank you so much - we will be back!

Pete, I speak for all of us. We had a wonderful trip. We are going to Raft the Kern next month,( a little less of a drive)! Do you have the video of our trip? We are anxious to check it out. Gee. How did you get everyone's email address? I sent a long trip report to my extended family. Hope some of them decide to join us next time we go with you guys. We really enjoyed the trip, and I have a sneaky suspicion it will prove to be the highlight of our trip through OR/WA. No promises... we are going orca watching today. My 83-year-old mother asked, after reading my report, "Can I go?" And then she supplemented with another email, "I will enjoy the breakfast and lunch parts at least." We appreciated your company and excellent guiding, and especially your alertness when Kelly fell in. Please tell Peter he runs a great operation, and keep it up! The Scott ascended into the top 10 rivers that I have had the previledge of experiencing over the last 40 years. I certainly understand why it is one of your favorite's. I think I have been on a half dozen trips with Momentum (and dozens with other river outfitters so I know what I am talking about in this one limited area). Momentum rocks! Absolutely the best in every category. The guides are unbelievable in their knowledge of the suroundings and in their ability to make everyone feel welcome and challenged. The food is first class. Every trip is pure fun from dawn till late night. Website does a spectacular job of helping to select the best trips -- with buddies, with kids or with the grandparents. Excellent value.

First time river rafting at age 58 and we did class 4 rapids. We had early teen kids up to age 65 on our trip. With Eric's professionalism and experience and commands regularly blasting in my ear, we did great and I had an absolute blast. Would recommend this guide, company and trip without qualification to anyone.

Erik- Thank you for such a great time. We really enjoyed our time with your crew on and off the river. What a great experience, I will definitely be recommending this company to anyone who is interested in this sort of adventure. However, this ranks up there with the best of all of the sailing I have done. Beyond your expertise and concise instruction, your overall customer interaction and service was something I have never experienced before in any environment. This, along with the gourmet culinary skills, has me already considering my next trip with your company.

As someone who has rafted on commercial trips all over the western U.S. for over 15 years now, I can say without hesitation that your company is the FINEST outfit I have rafted with. The Cal Salmon trip was probably the 2nd best trip I have ever been on.
