Dear Arden, Pete and Mike, It’s been over a month since we adventured down the Rogue with you all, yet we still drink coffee from our beat up Momentum mugs and talk about our late summer in Oregon. Rudy grew in inches, strength and soul during our trip; somewhere in the midst of the white water, the mouse in our dry bag and the games of bocce ball along the river great things happened for him and for all of us. As Arden well knows, I was so hesitant at the beginning of the trip (hesitant? No - petrified) having had a bad white water encounter before. Arden’s skill, reassurance and compassion, warmth and outrageous sense of humor helped me to let go of that experience and open up to this one. I can’t emphasize enough what this did for me, and as a result, what it did for our family. It meant so much to us that we were able to take this kind of trip together – that Rudy have an experience that challenged and thrilled him and that we all were able to get so far away from our day to day at home. The weekend after we returned, the three of us backpacked 5 miles to a spot overlooking the ocean in Pt. Reyes and spent the night listening to the waves. Jeff, Thanks for making our rafting experience so awesome. As you know, it was my neice's first raft trip and she was a little nervous. I appreciated the way you engaged her in conversation about her interests and shared your knowledge about the river with her. By the end of the trip, she was telling me how much fun she had and how she'd like to go again. We got some great action photos that she can't wait to share with her friends. Your style is very calming and relaxing, but more importantly, your skill in handling the raft was apparent. I've taken trips with other groups and haven't been as impressed with the level of experience the guides had. Take care and enjoy the rest of the summer. Sandy

Hi Pete! What a wonderful time we had on our Rogue trip! We really appreciated the upbeat energy of our guides Jeff, Mara and Arden, and Erik's leadership promoted well being throughout the trip. We loved how they all joined in on the "pink"!!! Ask Jeff about his Sat. eve attire... The gear was first class, the meals were nourishing and yummy and the guide expertise fabulous. The only disappointment was that we didn't get to meet YOU! Next time! And, judging from the Flamingo comments, we will be rejoining Momentum for another great adventure in the future!!! Thank you! Thanks to our personable guide, Anthony, we had a marvelous trip down the Rogue River. Anthony shared local history, knew lots about dams, wildlife and gold sluicing. Oh, and the rapids were exhilarating. Someone in the office even made a little cake for our daughter's birthday. Love you guys!

Dear Erik, Simon and Robyn, Outdoor Bob and I want to thank you all so very much for the absolutely perfect three days we've ever had on a river... and all thanks to you! Mara, Rebecca & Pete: Thank you for enabling us to have such an unforgettable family vacation. We are still on a "high" from all the fun and new experiences we enjoyed. Rachel, Please let Pete and the staff know that we had a fantastic time! The trip was absolutely perfect (except for maybe the mosquitos). Mike and Simon were very professional, courteous, fun and hard working, while making sure we had everything we needed or wanted to make the trip exceptional. Thanks for working so hard to make our Momentum float a raging success. We are grateful for the intentedness with which your create our special and most memorable adventures. The Rogue is a very special and spectacular river. She is our friend for life, and so is Momentum! You will most likely hear about our mom, Heidi, having a minor accident where she jumped off a rock and sprained her achillies. Please know that there is nothing Momentum could have done differently to avoid or address this situation. Heidi has lived a very full life of adventure, travel and doing all sorts of things she "wasn't supposed to do," and this little accident is just a very small reflection of that approach to life, which we honor and cherish. She seems to be in no pain at all unless she puts pressure on the tendon, and we'll have her in to see the Dr. on Monday where we will hopefully find that its just a sprain and it will heal with time and rest. Have a great rest of the rafting season! Joe

WHAT A SUPER AWESOMW TIME WE HAD ! The gear, the preinstructions, pick up and delivery of ourselves, food and beverages...yikes what more could we ask for ! The guide was skilled knowledgeable and concerned for everyones fun and safety. Yeah Alan !!

In a 4-star rating system, Momentum gets 5++++++! Our guide, Simon, was wonderful, gave us clear instructions (so important for beginners), and provided us with a memorable and exciting experience. Thank you, Momentum, for introducing us to the Rogue and rafting!

We are a family with 5 sons, ages 23-9, and we went on the 3 day lodge to lodge trip. The older boys, all very athletic, have never been so happy with a family trip-kayaking, rafting, swimming, and eating! The younger boys were challenged but safe using the kayaks and rafts. They got to see bears, eagles, turtles, etc. Mom and dad now feel 20 years younger. The guides, Erik, Robin, & Simon, were professional, experienced, and fun. We felt very safe in such capable hands. Excellent trip! Only two drawbacks...you might gain weight with all the good food, and you can't stay forever.

Mara, Thank you for your thoughtful email. Ariel and I had a wonderful time. All three of you are great people and we enjoyed getting to know you. I hope to stay in touch as we'd love to book a trip with you for Idaho next summer. I'm thankful Ariel got to experience time with such two strong and happy women. Hey there, or should I say, oh no.... thank you (hug, hug). As we sat at dinner last Wednesday we talked about you guys being back out on the river and wondered if you were at Battle Barge for the night or some other great camp spot. We too had a blast thanks to the tremendous trio who made the trip all that it was. It truly makes a parent thrilled to be off to the side and listen to their kids tell others how great of a time they just had being out in the "wilderness" and that they appreciated all there is to experience, and all without a cell phone, amazing!! I have heard them all relating to others what a great bunch of guides we we so fortunate to join in with, so I do not think anything was lost without the hot young guide, and what more could they want then Simon for young and hot and Casey obviously dug Jeff, my same age son-in-law, and what better gal pal could the girls have for a trip then Mara!! This trip exceeded our expectations, which were high, given what we've been told about river trips. Our guides were superb: totally professional, trained, friendly, competent. The food was fresh and tasty, cabins and lodge were comfortable, and the river rafting and kayaking were a thrill of a lifetime. We were in good hands with Momentum and hope to do the trip again. Worth every penny.

My teenage girls and I had a wonderful time on the 1/2 day raft trip! Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and personable. This was the first time my daughter's have ever done anything like this and they LOVED it! My youngest thinks she wants to be a rafting guide for a living now... My 15 year old daughter and I cannot get over how much fun we had on this trip. We expected great rafting and incredible food. What we did not anticipate was how nice our guides would be. Pete, Robyn, Tessa and James were so much fun and such a delight to be with. They are not only incredible guides but great rafting companions as well. Thanks guys for all you did to make this a trip Carissa and I will always remember. Can't wait to do it again!

Pete, Rachel and all: We just returned sun-drenched, soggy and extremely happy from our 3-day adventure on the Rogue. It could not possibly have been any better! Anthony is a true pleasure to be with (my second time, same as first experience last May) and Simon was so wonderful. The lodges were great. My sister does NOT want to return to El Paso (108 degrees today), but wants to spend the rest of her life on the Rogue—and plans to return in a year or two to do another river with you. My wife, who has a fear of water and dislike of anything that happens fast, is actually talking about taking another trip with you next year!! As for me, well, you already have a fervent disciple—and a return customer! (Although, the Rogue in late June is so much better than the Owyee in early May!!!!!!!!!!!!) Once again, Momentum's day trip on the Rogue was the highlight for our German exchange students. Their fun guides, excellent attention to detail, reliable transportation, great snacks and affordable pricing make them the gold standard for student trips. We had a fantastic experience rafting down the rogue last week. Alan was our amazing and calm guide and Swirl and Lucy drove us to and from our location. We were well informed and educated about the river and the trip. Alan also kept us laughing and feeling very safe. The company made sure we were warm on quite a chilly morning. We are ready to do the Upper Klamath next time. Thank you so much for making our trip up to drop off our youngest to U of O much more memorable.

We had a GREAT trip down the Rogue with Robyn, Mara, and Mike - they were awesome! I wish all the boys and their girlfriends had been able to come along. We talked a lot about further trips, but not sure if we're not too picky - duckies a must, wetsuits yuck! and needs to be 5-6 days (4 days was too short!). Any ideas for next year? Maybe if we plan it enough in advance everyone can come. Has to be after the first week of June because our youngest is graduating from high school and probably won't want to miss it! Dear Pete, Mike and Anthony! It was a amazing trip! I don’t know where I should begin telling you how much I enjoyed it and appreciate all your hard wonderful, astounding, great, remarkable, amazing, significant, SWEET trip! I’ve been thinking for the whole week what I should write to you. Whenever I had an idea of what to write I wrote it on a small piece of paper, and put it next to me. In fact, last night, while I was lying in bed, I had an idea. I wrote it down and put it with the collection. The problem is, is that the papers somehow got to be all over the house. I really enjoyed the river and camping! No. I take that back. I enjoyed the river and camping but it wouldn’t have been the same without the three awesome guides! It passed soooo quickly! After looking forwards to it for soooo long, it was much better than I even expected. I’ll try to find the notes, and then write you another e-mail. Now, we are leaving to my grandparents’ house and the whole family is rushing me out….. Hope to see you in Israel! Chana

Dear Pete, Miike and Anthony, First of all, I want to thank you all very much for the amazing trip! Please pretend that this email came the day after the trip, but since we spent the rest of the week in the middle of nowhere in California, we had no computer access. So, that gave me a week to think out what I want to write. Every day after the trip, we only talked about our fun adventures and our amazing guides. We really enjoyed your company, and your fun sense of humor. We still laugh when we retell the funny experiences that happened to us. I truly feel that we are a more coordinated octupus family now... We also learned a very important word from you, that has turned to be a regular word in our family's vocabulary: Sweet! It is such a fun and cute word, that I now use that expression regularly. Maybe I will successfully manage to bring old Oregon slang back to Israel. Of course you could try to bring the Israeli "Sababa" to Oregon too... Speaking about Israel, we really meant you should come and visit. My family and I already talked about all the places you would enjoy to see, and things to do. Our house always have different people comming and going, and we would love for you to be one of them too. You should bring Robin along too... There are so many beautiful sights there, that it is worth a trip over! I can't believe I almost forgot this one last thing! I was thinking about it all week... At the end of the trip I forgot to give you the bear forms. Where would you like me to send it? To your office, or to the address that is written on the form? I really enjoyed seeing the bears, and the cubs. My whole family thought it was really neat, even though we must've asked you so many worried questions about the bears comming to eat us. We will always remember the trip and remember you. (How can I possibly forget?!) So you won't forget us too, here is the group picture we took all together. It is sweet... Dear Pete: I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for the wonderful experience we had rafting and camping on the Rogue in late July. We had never been on an organized rafting trip, and so weren't sure what to expect. We loved the small size of the group; the scenery was magnificent (especially all the little creeks and waterfalls along the way); and it was especially fun to be able to go through some of the rapids in the inflatable kayaks. Our guides Mara and Anthony were simply spectacular. They worked constantly to make everyone feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. We learned a tremendous amount about water safety, rafting techniques, reading the river, and natural history from them, and the food they put together was truly outstanding. We have never eaten so well on a camping trip before. We appreciated the special effort they put in to accommodate vegetarians and other special dietary needs. We are already starting to think about our next rafting trip with Momentum--and hopefully with Mara and Anthony! We've sent electronic checks to Momentum in the amount of $125 for Mara and Anthony. We would appreciate it very much if you could give these to them and convey our appreciation for all their hard work and good cheer. Thanks again for a great vacation! Tom and Kevin

Hey Alan, Thanks for writing! I actually have been meaning to write you guys and tell YOU thanks. Not only did we have a great time, but the entire trip felt astoundingly professional and informative, something I kept thinking over and over as were were preparing side-by-side with the other local tour companies whom appeared to just get in the raft and go; you guys were really awesome for a really great price and I can easily say that you've got me thinking about my next river trip already. Thanks again for all of your expertise, I really learned a lot while also having the time of my life. It had been almost ten years since I last rafted but I'm hooked again and I look forward to seeing you guys again soon!

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of taking a 4 day inflatable kayak camping trip on the Rogue River with your company. The trip was everything we hoped for. The whitewater was challenging for novices but totally fun and never felt dangerous. The weather and scenery were exceptional. The food was, as advertsied, fresh and delicious. However, the success of the trip was assured by our guides, Anthony and Mara, who worked tirelessly and maintained great attitudes, encopuraging us and looking after our safety and enjoyment. Who knew that two such accomplished guides could also be great cooks, naturalists, and wonderful companions. Thanks to the entire Momentum staff for a perfect vacation experience. We look forward to another river trip with you in the future.

The Rogue was my third trip with Momentum. All three trips were top-rate. Guides are personable, competent, elicit alot of confidence, great cooks and fun personalities. Food is tops; equipment is excellent and the small group sizes are perfect.

Pete, I won the trip you donated to JPR's Spring Fund Drive and my wife and I did the trip last week. Neither of us had ever rafted before and it was great! The guides, Allen, Jason and Chad, did an excellent job, both on the river and in preparing meals. We enjoyed the lodges, too. Floating down the river in the wilderness was especially enjoyable - - just birds, otters, mink, deer and a bear. Thank you so much for donating the trip. Hello Pete, Thank you to the whole of Momentum for organizing a splendid river adventure. My son, husband and I returned Sunday from the Rogue Wilderness Lodge trip and it was the highlight of our summer. My son is turning 15 this fall and is athletic and adventurous by nature but had no idea how much fun and challenge he was going to have. He smiled the entire trip, as did Phillip and I. The beauty of the Rogue and the Siskiyou Mountains was a feast for the senses. We saw animal life that we'd hoped to see (bear, mink, fox, otters, orange crayfish, water turtles, bald eagles, osprey) that we just don't have in Palo Alto, California. The white water was terrific for beginners (quickly turned intermedieates) and provided extended excitement and challenge for Phillip and Chris particularly when they learned to surf. Once they slipped into the inflatables (first day) they never returned to the raft. The lodges were the perfect choice for us, and we loved both of them for different reasons. If a person can't love Paradise, then life really is hopeless. The lodge was beautiful and spacious itself but it wasn't just the comfortable accommodations that made it special - the entire property cradled us in it's serene and natural beauty and provided a dreamy ending to a dreamy day. Let me gush about your guides for a moment. Alan led the trip and Mike guided our supply boat. They are two of the most wonderful mentors we could have hoped to lead us on the river. Alan's knowledge is deep and wide; his demeanor matched the serenity of the surroundings which caused us to pay attention to both the wilderness history and the rules he imparted while on his boat. He was not just a guide, he was a wonderful teacher and successfully shared his palpable love of this stretch of the Rogue. I'd even go so far as to say he possessed a little magic about him: twice he got us on hikes up tributaries that ended in these river pools the likes of which you see in National Geographic, and he did so just before other bigger groups arrived. We came upon these pools as if we were the only humans in the region which added a special "just for you" quality to the hikes. Mike could not have been more delightful. He too was profoundly knowledgeable. His ease, grace, humor, and willingness to share his love of rafting captured our imaginations for hours. Chris decided he looked like the movie character, Wolverine, and he was given this moniker for our trip. Your care and attention to our meals was evident and greatly appreciated. Your thoughtful approach to reducing our impact on the wilderness is deeply appreciated and respected. It's better than nice knowing we may have had little negative impact on the river. Your drivers at the take out were courteous and again, engaging. Oh yes, I realize you cannot predict what groups will get along when paired together for three days - sometimes it works and sometimes not. Well, we loved the Seymour family and all eight of us got on beautifully which of course added to the expansive joy experienced by all. From my initial contact with your company throughout our time with you, my/our experience was superlative. We have been and will continue telling everyone we come into contact with what a special encounter we had and to investigate Momentum. Thank you so very much. fondly, rpm

There were 5 of us, a family reunion of sorts, and we continue to talk about this trip a week later. Our group ranged from a first timer, to very experienced, and it was a good fit for all. We took a 1/2 day trip down the Rogue River, and it was worth every penny spent, and every second of time spent. From the making of reservations with Robyn, to Jason's great guide down the river, to the goodies provided at the end, everything was first class. I have been on many raft trips, on many rivers, and Jason was one of the best I've ever encountered. Not only was he an expert about the river, but he was also great at reading the personalities of each individual, and ensuring that everyone was included in conversation, and that everyone enjoyed the trip. We had a wonderful Rogue trip in August with Anthony while visiting Oregon Shakespeaer Festival. Excellent logistics with Medford pick-up right at our hotel. I recommend Momentum staff, Anthony, and this trip as a perfect add-on to any summer visit to the Ashalnd festival. The Petersens

Pete - wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed the trip and the terrific side expeditions. It was all great. Especially wanted to thank you all for the wine tasting - it was really fun and the wine and cheese were delicious - April's did a really nice job - and so did Adam as our wine guide. Pete, I am sure your are in the office either today or Monday before your next trip so I just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks and feedback from my Momentum IK trip. I can best describe it as great, greater, greatest. All you promised and more. Concern for client safety, welfare and satisfaction is beyond words but can go with the three mentioned. Food and lodging were far more than expected. A unique rafting trip to say the least. Would not hesitate to recommend Momentum Rafting to anyone, without reservation. Hope to do another, would probably have to be the same trip, I am spoiled. Wish my best the Anthony and the support and encouragement he provided throughout the trip. Given the fact that I originally signed up for the Illinois and had to be diverted at the last minute to the Rogue due to water conditions, it was probably a blessing in disguise. The Rogue River trip was awesome! So beautiful at every turn. Even the weather Gods were with us. I now have a new appreciation for rapids ratings (Class I, II, III,etc) and might think twice about booking an extreme adventure. LOL! The expertise of our guides made the journey safe, relaxing, exciting when it should be, and the food was out of this world! This was my first guided float trip and I'll have to say that guides Anthony and Adam are NUMBER ONE!! They worked so hard, were pleasant, entertaining, accommodating, SKILLED, friendly; they truly made my trip a memorable experience. Hey, guys! How about that 9-nine Owyhee trip next spring! Looking forward to it.

I did it, I survived it, and most of all.....I loved it!! This afternoon, july 16, was a great experience for me to raft with you on the Roque river. It was my first time ever I have rafted!! Alex, our guide, had patience with me, just what I would like to say about the other rafting quests!! Thank all of you for this very special experience on the Roque river, don't forget to say thank you to Neil,our driver, the man who made us the nice snack when we retourned from our exciting trip!! Hope to do it again sometime!?!?

I just got home this evening. The rafting was the was the most outstanding part of our trip, and something Logan will no doubt keep with him forever. It couldn't have turned out better:). I took my 9 year old son for his 1st trip on the Rogue with Erik Jorgensen and we had an awesome time! I'd taken a 5 day Rogue River thriller trip years ago and was so delighted to have my son eager for his next trip thanks to Erik's skill and enthusiasm. Thanks Erik!!
